A GUIDE TO LIONS MULTIPLE DISTRICT 105 CONVENTION
Friday Night
We recommend arriving in good time to settle in. As there may be opportunities to stop and chat, please allow extra time to reach your room.
The social night on Friday is our 'Welcome night' dress code is informal as this is our fun night
- TIP. When you register for Convention you will receive your Convention pack including tickets for the social events. Make sure you bring them with you to events as we cannot guarantee entry without tickets.
Saturday
This is the main day as we hold the Convention today, the Multiple District's Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Breakfast will be served early, it tends to get busy so ensure you arrive early. Don't leave it too late getting down for breakfast, as Convention will start promptly in the morning
There may be an area of the convention room with a hearing loop in place, please use this area if you need to otherwise leave it clear for those who do. It is usually at the front and it will be shown by signage
First time attendees at Convention may be taking part in the First Timers Competition so if you are an an experienced Lion please chat to them and make them feel welcome and help them with any questions they may have.
- TIP. Make sure you bring your pre-booked lunch ticket with you for entry to the dining room. Couples should ensure that each has their own ticket with them.
Whilst Convention is in session please respect others and try to move around quietly between sessions. Please respect the presenters and give them your support - some have come a long way to make these presentations. Do feel free to contribute to discussions at the appropriate time, remember it is your AGM.
Please find time to support the Lions exhibition. Do have a wonder around the exhibition area and also visit the Lions Shop to buy your club supplies
Saturday evening sees the "Celebration Dinner". The dinner usually commences at 7:00pm, again there will be a pre-drinks reception in the foyer of the Convention hall starting at 6:30pm. Dress for the evening is informal -smart casual and open collars are perfectly acceptable
- TIP. The seating plan for the evening will be on display during the day, again it's a good idea to find out where you are sitting before the evening.
Sunday
Our Sergeant at Arms will have told Convention at the close of business on Saturday what time we will be commencing on Sunday
The business session will finish before lunch, Hopefully you will have really enjoyed your weekend and everything will have run smoothly and we can look forward to seeing you again at next year's Convention!
Please enjoy Convention, if you have any problems over the weekend, ask any member of the host committee for help.
- TIP. Timings may change so check the Convention Programme a few days beforehand.
